DEPARTMENT OF MASTERS
The second stage of the higher education system at the University of Geological Sciences has developed a regulatory framework for master's degree, the basics of the organization of the educational process, educational and methodological complex, a new generation of information support. The composition of scientific and pedagogical staff has been formed. Normative and methodological documents have been developed and approved to ensure the continuity and consistency of the higher education process in the educational process.
In order to develop the integration of education, science and production, the scientific and practical activities of undergraduates are organized in the "Center for Geoinformation Technologies" at the university with modern technology and equipment, in organizations and research institutes under the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
To increase interest and support the scientific activities of masters, scientific seminars and conferences are regularly held, modern information and pedagogical technologies are being introduced into the educational process.
In the 2020-2021 academic year, the university offers the following master's degree programs:
5A311801 - Hydrogeology and engineering geology;
5А311201 - Remote sensing and GIS technologies;
5А140813 - Geochemistry, mineralogy and petrology;
5А311712 - Search and exploration of ore and non- ore deposits
Master's students’ study in the following special subjects:
- "Modern methods of prospecting for minerals";
- "Genetic mineralogy";
- "Fundamentals of the development of the mineral resource base of Uzbekistan";
- "Methods for forecasting and prospecting non-metallic deposits"
- "Engineering and geological surveys";
- "Hydrogeochemistry";
- "Remote sensing in geology";
- " GIS in geology", etc.
To train highly qualified specialists, professors, doctors of sciences, associate professors, candidates of sciences, as well as leading scientists and specialists of research institutes of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan are involved in the teaching staff of the magistracy. In the master's program of the university, much attention is paid to the process of preparing master's theses. The topics of master's dissertations are selected taking into account the problematic issues of research organizations and the requirements of the employer field expeditions to specialists.
