Question
Geologiya muzeyi
Museum of Geology
Museums contain examples of material culture created by mankind and provide a sufficient image of the past and culture for future generations. But there are also museums of this area, which contain the beauties of nature. One such cultural institution is the Museum of Geology located in Tashkent.
The main purpose of the history and activity of the museum
The State Geological Museum of Uzbekistan was founded in 1926, and today it has 12 exhibition halls. In the exhibition halls, the stages of geological change of the Earth, traces of geological periods, ancient mining fossils, ancient creatures, remains of dinosaurs, their stony footprints, other creatures imprinted on stones for eternity and, most importantly, the geological wealth of Uzbekistan and diversity can be witnessed.
It should be noted that museum exhibits, which are natural information carriers, serve as the most basic and unique information about the structure and composition of geological bodies. The museum stores more than 50,000 amazing, beautiful and valuable specimens that speak of the geological diversity of the country. The collection of minerals here was collected as a result of excavations, these minerals contain almost all the elements of Mendeleev's table. Minerals are developed in various directions of national industry production. Of these, they are used in metallurgy, chemical industry, ceramics, medicine, optics, jewelry and several other areas.
A new building for the museum is a new era of geology
The exhibits in the exhibition halls of the Museum of Geology show that we are known on a global scale from a geological point of view, besides, they are of great importance in the development of our national pride, science, national traditions, economy, and politics.
In the age of modern information technologies, the Geological Museum faces the issue of presenting and illuminating scientific information embodied in geological objects at the highest possible level.
All of them serve as an important factor of scientific knowledge and expert evaluation based on primary natural (rock) and secondary (paper, photo, electronic, video, etc.) geological funds, data banks.
A special decision of the President "On measures to organize the activities of the University of Geological Sciences in the system of the State Geology and Mineral Resources Committee" was announced. The decision established the establishment of the University of Geological Sciences and the construction of a new modern building, including a museum. It is not surprising that this opens a new era for the museum of this field.
Today, the construction of a separate 5-story building for the university campus and the museum is about to be put into use.
The museum staff has a huge task: to preserve the exhibits and move them to the new building without damaging a single item. The weight of this huge task is that among more than 50,000 exhibits, the petrified remains of creatures that lived several million years ago are preserved in special conditions, and moving them to a new place requires more care and attention from the museum's professional staff. In the new building of the museum, it is planned to create all the possibilities that meet the requirements of today's modern museums. It uses advanced technologies that are used in world museums and meet world standards. Local and foreign tourists visiting the museum can relive the past and the underground structure before their eyes.
The museum halls consist of the following departments Geology Entrance Hall Old mining hall "Book State Reserve" hall Hall of Vertebrates Main hall. Hall of history of geological development of Uzbekistan Mineral Hall Hall of Petrography "Regional geology" hall. Regional hall Monograph hall Expedition hall
Geology Museum is valuable not only as evidence of science, but also as a place of education and training for employees of the State Geology and Mineral Resources Committee. Here they study the basic knowledge base from all geological educational institutions of the republic: universities, colleges and schools, and lectures are held in mineralogy, petrography, paleontology and other geological areas.
