Brief description of the Department “Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology”
The Department of Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology is a structural subdivision of the Faculty of Geology of Oil and Gas Fields of the University of Geological Sciences and was established by order of the Rector of the University No. 304-i dated May 30, 2022.
In 2020, the University of Geological Sciences was founded. As part of the Faculty of “Geology of Oil and Gas Fields”, the Department of “Remote Sensing of the Earth and Engineering Geology" began its activity. Bachelor's and master's degree courses in hydrogeology and engineering geology were opened at the department. In 2020, 31 undergraduate and 18 graduate students were enrolled. In 2022, all masters successfully completed their studies and were sent to work in the hydrogeological branch of the State Committee of Geology and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Highly qualified professors and teachers in the field of hydrogeology, such as DSc., prof. S.A.Bakeev, A.A.Mavlonov, V.A.Ismailov and PhD., docent K.R.Mingboev, G.A.Bimurzaev, were involved in the process of teaching and directing the scientific activities of undergraduates.
The Department has established cooperation in the scientific and industrial sphere with the State Committee of Geology and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan and with many enterprises and organizations of the hydrogeological branch of the Committee ( SE"Uzbek hydrogeology", Institute of Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology, State Service for the Fusion of Hazardous Processes (GSS)).
